Jon Grimsby - Drums, perc.

Jon GrimsbyJon moved to the east of Norway in 1985 as a young theater student at Romerike Folk Highschool. His buddies at the school were all players, and Jon just coincidentally had his drums in his back pocket, so - to put it mildly, a lot of music got played.

After school he and his buds from school moved to a collective in Oslo where they explored the world of Avant Garde Jazz. He soon found out pop music had a better potential for earning a living.

While in a band called “James Band”, he met bassplayer Atle Rakvåg with whom he’s stuck with through thick and thin since 1990. In 1995 they played together in “Johns Quijote” and released two Cds with band to critical acclaim from the press. Jon was also playing with Trond Granlund where he met J.T. Lauritsen. J.T. had a sleeping project at that time in 1995, called “Buckshot Hunters” which Jon got involved with and with whom he has become a trademark musical personality.
