J.T.LAURITSEN & THE BUCKSHOT HUNTERS
LIVE
HUNTER 00309
In this increasingly interconnected world, it may not be so remarkable that a premier Americana act hails from Norway. JT Lauritsen & The Buckshot Hunters have the right kind of ears and record collections, and a presentation marked by deep feeling that carries across stylistic borders – “Broken Circle” is as heartbreaking as anything The Band ever recorded. Lauritsen draws on Jimmy Reed and Earl King for blues, Norton Buffalo for the rocking “Is It Love,” and Dwight Yoakam for country, and turns in a handful of rough-and-tumble blues, roots-rock, and Louisiana-flavored numbers. Bookended by the soul of “What Am I Living For” and Tom T. Hall’s fabulous “That’s How I Got To Memphis,” Live features Billy Gibson on harmonica and two vocals, and wonderful guitar playing by Arfinn Tørrisen.
